David Muse ('04)

Hannah ('06 Maranatha graduate) and I have been married for a year and a half now and are about to go back to China to teach another semester of English as a Second Language. We have been there since July and came home during the month of January for a break. It's rather interesting living in China and we are learning as we go along. Until next time....

Brian Schoonover ('96)

Brian: "We have entered into week 28 and so far - no baby! I know that probably sounds crazy, but we are actually very estatic. That means our baby girl is still growing and protected. We do ask that you continue to pray for us, as we have a lot to deal with right now.First and foremost of course, is Jody and the baby. She has been on bedrest for 3+ weeks now, and I know she is getting sick of the whole thing. The contractions have started to hurt a little more, but still everything looks good, the baby is VERY active, and mom is doing well too, all things considered."

Here's a picture of Brian and birthday celebrants!

Joe Scally ('00)

Here's Joe, Beth and Joseph Benjamin (age 10 months) at Christmas. Joe says: "I am now well in to my 7th tax season (at Heemer, Klein & Co., P.C. CPA's). I have taken 3 of the 4 sections of the CPA exam. I missed the BEC (Business Environments and Concepts) section by 3 questions and plan to retake it right after tax season.

"Beth and I are still doing our church's bookkeeping, I teach the Jr high boys Sunday school class and Beth is in charge of the wee walkers so we are trying to stay busy in the church."

Wayne Mix ('91)

Wayne offers an update from Ironwood Christian Camp in California. It's both a blessing and a prayer list. [See Wayne's picture in our December 29, 2007 post.]

"We have a sixth grade group in camp at the moment, they have been a fun group. The services are going well, several kids have responded to the initiations.

"Last weekend at the Youth Winter Rendezvous, there were seven decisions regarding salvation!! The campers had a unique activity that weekend, sleds made of ice and a plastic run down the hill above the lake!! It was great to watch…chilly to be involved in ...

"A church in Ohio voted to take me on for support last Sunday night for $50 a month!! That is a tremendous blessing and I am so thankful! I would appreciate your continued prayer for full support to be provided. A couple of individuals have started to support me as well and that is an encouragement!!

"One note regarding my personal walk, I have been using a devotional guide... It is not super deep, but it has been one of the most helpful tools to date in helping me grow!! It is “My Biography of God.” It gives a passage and asks questions to cause you to search the scripture...

"Thankful for the opportunity to serve, Wayne Mix"

Wayne would love to read updates from other 1991 alumni. How about it Sarah (Hassel) Heberg, Gerald McPhillips, Jill (Brudnak) Pendley, and Michael Pickard? :^)
